I think you would need the 22r computer An maybe some of the harness but don't quote me cause I'm not sure

you prolly just have to cut it off..lmao jkjk...because carbed motors dnt need computers right? because its all mechanical?...so maybe just cut it off or get rid of ur 22re comp.idk

I gots no truck, for now
you would need the 22r intake manifold..then you could run the weber. All you would have to do is basically unplug and remove everything electrical from the engine bay. you might have to leave the fuseboxes and some of the harness for the headlights and starter.. I also think you would lose you A/c too cause thats controlled by the ECU.

22r has less wires to mess with.. i have 4wires in my engine bay all for my headlights and one for my starter and alt. thats it. when you have 22re you have all the comp wires running MAF etc. and all the vacuum lines and everything...i swapped form 22re to 22r...buti did a whole motor swap not just the manifold part so thats why i dont know how to bypass the MAF sensor because i tore all the electrical out and only kept my fuse box and i still have AC because i ran it through a seperate switch. and with a 22r you have more engine space i say and easier to work on and easier to lay rocker on 20s....thats why i did my swap..for him idk why he wants to do it.

i can see why you would wanna go for side drafts but....... you want it cus of simplicity or cus of power??

if you want more power just toss a turbo in there...... half the 22rte is already there. :waytogo:

Nevermind what people think. If you want to convert, go ahead and do it and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. To answer your question, you don't need the maf. With sidedrafts, or any carb for that matter, you don't need a sensor to tell the computer how much fuel you need. Instead of the computer, your jets will be metering your fuel. Because of this, you can delete the entire computer, as well as other things, if you wanted. Your also going to be needing a different fuel pump since the efi model dishes out too much psi, or you could use a regulator (not the best solution).

might as well swap a whole 22R with sidedrafts on it and sell the 22RE or work it.
