W58 transmission in '79 Hilux

    Trying to install a W58 from an '85 Celica in my Hilux. The rear crossmember mount holes are about 2" further back and the insulator won't fit...

    Anyone else have any experience with this swap?

    1978 Toyota Galavan Motorhome.
    If you’re swapping from a 4 speed to a 5 speed you need the saddle from a 5 speed truck. Either that, or lots of fabricating.

    Need the trans mount for the W58 to a celica and mod the crossmember to accept that mount

    thanks for the replies, a local buddy is going to modify the mount for me.

    So, my buddy nailed it on the modification. The second photo show how far it was off. The last pic shows mount with isolator installed. What a great upgrade the W58 is from the W50, I'm pretty happy with how she drives now.
