Here is my experience with figuring out the vacuum systems... There are many variations (in my opinion) of the systems and your best bet is to look at the diagram located under the hood. I know, not much help... but when I went a searched for the vacuum diagram for my 78, I couldn't find a picture for my little gem of a truck and then I realized it was under the hood all along. Also, the monkeys that had the vehicle before me didn't have a clue about the vacuum system and I surmise they used the wrong picture because when I got it pipped correctly in accordance with the diagram, I had three extra feet of tubing! AND I was able to get it to run correctly!!! So check under the hood and if not look in google images... There are quite a few there but make sure its the right application... That particular piece you are pointing to sets up the hot air intake (if I am not mistaken) for when the engine is cold so not much worry there as long as the vacuum is available to the component you are pointing at...

    cheers!

Take a picture of it brother and post it. There are a TON of folks on here that have "been there, done that" and can explain every little nuance! Post the picture of it and see what happens. I have all the literature for a 78 and I don't think much changed with the terminology of components... Post a pic....

    Jose,
The 1st two pictures actually look correct. Is your truck running any different?
