Just to tap into all your yota heads....I've been looking to upgrade my heads to create better breathing and mostly to put on those carbs I got from B.Y.E. So the question is whats the best way to do this? I've searched out head work on the net but have been leaning to Putney custom machine. To keep down time on truck to a minimal I want to get a complete set to do a quick remove/reinstall. any suggestions on type of cam? perfer power to gas mileage but steetability a must (i drive this daily)anyone out there worked with Putneys? I like the idea that they take oem cams and reground them to their specs since some cams are made in china and have found to be inferior in metal content. I know most of the yota guys want more power and has changed cams at least once so let the rest of us know the real world power gains and combinations of carb/cam
The best street/strip cam by far in my opinion.... http://www.compperformancegroupstor...e=CC&Product_Code=87-131-6&Category_Code=YOTA
www.bakercylinderheads.com/ (702) 257-2300 is the best and the only head shop used by Carrol Shelby and Shelby USA. I have one of their 22r heads on my truck and never had a problem.
i would run 20r head, dual mikuni 44's, Mean MOTHA&^$#@ cam, dual valve springs, Msd 6al igniton sys, light crankshaft, 12lbs. flywheel, and street/strip unsprung 6-puck clutch, to a 22r celica tranmission. hooo, thats my dream right there!
