Yes , have the under drive set up on my LC Pro Street 22re EFI
Works fine ,through @ idle you may have no out put from your alternator,as the stock alternator doesn't trigger until higher RPMS!
    I changed to a GM 12SI unit ,100 amps @ ideal & 150 off ideal!

Truck Action- Thanks for the info. When you swapped alternators, did you re-do the wiring to it?

I already had changed to a larger main wire ,as my stock alternator was rewound fro higher output!
Also have to change the main fuse @ the engine bay, to larger!

OOOO! that fuse thing is something I had not thought of! BRAVO!

So if one does swap the pulleys from this kit on, it would understandable slow things down. However in terms of the alternator this is no good as the drop in voltage could affect turn signals, dash lights etc at a stop light. Question is if one does the pulleys, and then swaps in a larger alternator, is one really seeing a big difference in engine power, electrical power etc, or would you just be chasing your tail as everything is now simply "bigger" not necessarily "better"?

It won't effect turn signals, etc., just wont charge battery @ lower engine speeds!
The bigger alternator along with a bigger (deep cycle/start ) battery will aid if you have a big stereo set up & lots of accessorizes, like air pumps, electric fan ,etc.
I had the smallest pulley put on the alternator when I ordered it!

for street and practicality purposes... I wouldn't put this on my truck unless I'm churning 5000RPM's + 95% of the time I'm driving.

It is no problem , I been driving my truck with this kit for 7 years now.
    Have a manual 5 speed trans with 9 1/2 lb. fly wheel, & in 5th @ 75 turn around 2,800 rpms.

I am finding out more and more that the flywheel is the key to making big (22re big) numbers and revs. My coworkers '88 2wd has the lce 9lb flywheel and it made a HUGE difference in the way the motor behaves.

I like the idea of the billet pulleys but seems unless one wants to do the alternator swap, you may be having issues making everything just right....

On a side note, have another buddy that has a 94 2wd xcab, swapped gearing in the rear end w a 4runner...and ****!!! that is nuts how much different it runs down the road.

I have the flywheel also ( Pro Street EFI), so the engine pulls strong from any where & every where!!
And a rear gearing change will help ,but if you go this way gear it for your use!! Street / strip/towing!

I believe my gearing is 3:73 & it just fine!!
