Got into truck to come to work this morning, turned the key, and nothing... headlights, dome light, radio, wipers all work fine, and didnt look dim... the past couple of days it seems like its had a a bit more nd more trouble turning the engine over, but then also it kinda felt like maybe a contact issue in the ignition switch... i can hear a single noise under the hood when the key is turned, sounds like maybe the starter tryin to engage or something, but just not turning over... maybe the starter?... freewheeling starter? or possibly just bad

Check your battery connections first. Make sure there tight and you cant turn them. Just cause the lights come on doesnt mean the battery has enough juice to crank the engine over. The if the battery is good and tight, try boosting it...... if no change then i would suspect a starter. Also check the connections at the starter itself.

    First check/charge the battery.

If its charged, then look at the connections. clean any corrosion.

But if it still clicks once you roll the key to start, starters most likely fried.

Sometimes you can bang it with a hammer and itll start to work, sometimes.
