This is a pretty simple question; What transmission came stock on the 22re's 2wd, in 91? The noise mine has been making is getting a lot worse and is falling out of 5th so I think it's time to look into a new one..

Mine's got a W56, it's pretty common. G series are just lighter, less beefy versions of the W series AFAIK. I've got lists of gearing for the W5x series and some others if you care.
99.9% sure it's a W55. If the speedo cable is on the drivers side it's a "G" series trans. "W" series is on the pax side. I doubt it will be a "R" series since they only came on the 85-88 turbo 22re's, V6 models and the turbo supra... It should tell you on the data plate sticker affixed to the door jamb...
