alright everyone im in need of some help! when i take off in first i get a real bad shake, like the whole truck shakes bad. bolts are tight and i just replaced the trans mount and nothing also just did a through out bearing and clutch, if anyone has some insight here please help lol, its at the point its so bad i cant drive the thing
I no the trans is back in the truck but did you check flywheel bolts and the input shaft for excessive movement ? It didn't do this before the clutch and throw out bearing right
no it didnt, the fly wheel was never touched and all bolts were tight and im not sure about the input shaft! i was recently told to check the carrier bearing
so i was told to take the trans back out and scuff the fly wheel and the shaft the through out bearing sits on... should i do this?
Yes scuffing the flywheel is common to create a clean surface if oil has saturated the clutch disk u may be experiencing clutch chatter a dirty oil soaked flywheel or clutch can cause a chatter vibration upon clutch pedal release in any gear mostly first checking the input shaft is just grabbing it shake it it should move a little but if it's real loose the bearing may be worn .. Kinda sounds like u got a clutch chatter does the vibration stop after its engaged and cruising > the shaft that the throw out bearing rides on ( input shaft ) u can apply a thin layer of wheel bearing grease to it to ease the operation of the throw out bearing about a finger dip full
once im rolling after clutch is let off it drives amazing i can smash through the gears i got great power and pick up its ust when taking off in first
Maybe some clutch chatter in first gear were did the clutch come from I have seen some autoparts store clutch kits come with some worn out pressure plate forks < refurbished oem ones straight outta the box
U can just give me the truck an ill deal with the vibrations no big deal haha Srry I'm no help. I don't like messing with transmissions. Although I am fearing apart my old one to see why I blew it last year, an man tht bearing next to the input shaft is toast an missing some of those metal balls haha
The only test I can think of to maybe see if it's chatter is to jack the rear of the truck up on jack stands and put it in first and take of like u normally do with no weight on the drive train and see if there's any difference sense clutch chatter is a form of slippage from a result of weight or defective contact surfaces under load .. At work we burn/slip semi clutches all the time to melt away buildup .but theses are serious triple clutches . Try at your own risk
