So i bought this head listed on ebay, 20r milled for the 20r22r hybrid, lc stage 2 cam, upgraded lc valvesprings with a new valvejob, 100 miles on the head "he said". But when i got it in the mail today i noticed this

    <a href="http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn100/maxisdrunk/?action=view&current=threads-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn100/maxisdrunk/threads-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Now im assuming that with the threads pertruding through the deck surface, as soon as i torque it down, ruined head gasket.
    Any suggestions, comments, criticism?

    Sorry wrong section, my bad.

Is it a hole in the picture? If it is you can probably take it to a machine shop so they can weld it back up and get them to to a pressure test on it too. because of the location of the crack I doubt it would hurt anything because it's not cracked in the combustion chamber but I would still take it to a machine shop and get them to check it out.

I agree...take it to a machine shop & see if it can be welded. It looks like it can be repaired to me bro. Hopefully it will all work out! :)

yeah its a hole, with the location i dont think its much of a problem. but if you can see it, it is a bolt, or stud screwed into the back of the head, and it looks as if they milled the head too much and hit the bolt. You can run your hand over the surface of the head and the threads from the bolt stick out. So they would bust a head gasket, im assuming

I highly doubt it would blow the head gasket, thats just a bolt for the EGR plate on the back of the head. But I would take it to a machine shop and let them fix it unless you know someone that can weld aluminum real good. All the machine shop will do is weld it up a tap it the right way for the bolt. Somebody had just jammed that bolt in there at an angle. But I would also get them to pressure check it for any cracks. As long as there are no cracks in the combustion chamber or anywhere where water can get in the oil you'll be fine.
