It is fairly simple. You need to buy an oil sending unit that is for a gauge otherwise you will burn out the oil gauge if you do not change it after the swap. Also you can adjust the tach for a 4 cylinder engine. Their is a small adjustment screw in the back of these tachs. Do a search on Yotatech on SR5 swap. I also have a SR5 cluster if your interested:D

89-91 has a mechanical speedo. 92-95 has an electric speedo.

And I personally liked when I had a 92, I swapped the gauges faces for 89-91 from a parts cluster. Just slighty different font and increment dashes. /useless trivia haha.

Sorry to rain on your thread "sitnlow4life" but, can anyone give me some pointers to why my speedo don't work.

    1. connection to drivetrain
    2. connection to cluster
    3. speedo is just out ( temp/gas still works)

I too had this problem after I installed my cluster & come to find out that the connection/cable on the back of the cluster was on 100%. Might want to check that just to be sure.

This link is for the 84-88 cluster, but I used it when I did my swap & worked for me...http://www.humboldt.edu/~pke1/Truck/

    Oil pressure switches

What oil pressure switch are you guys using when you swap tach's? Is the switch for an 84-88 the same as 89-95 with a gauge? I've been looking at different places and getting different part #'s and prices (35-75 bucks). I'm getting ready to do a swap too and the switch is the last piece I need. I found 2 4cyl 4runners at the wrecking yard and picked up a tach out of one of them. I was going to grab the switch out of the truck too but it was a Cash 4 clunkers car and they put something in the motors to seize them so I didn't want to mess with that. Other than that that program is putting some nice stuff out there(except for the engines).
