Is there a larger sway bar for the 79-83 trucks? Found a RV at a salvage yard but wasn't sure if it was an upgrade from stock. Also on the RV is there a difference between the stock 5 lug and the big 5 lug sway bar?

My guess would be more than likely not that you could just go out and buy. However, if you have any experience fabricating, fabbing up a sway bar isn't too difficult

Measure the bar, use a string, or a dial caliper.. I would think an rv would have a bigger sway bar do to the amount of weight on the truck compared to one that isnt an rv model. Look for,a rear sway bar on that truck also.

I know this threads a bit old, but i came across a sway bar on an rn80 (1993 lux) and it was proably twice the diameter of my rn41 (1980 lux) Looks like it will fit but i havnt tryed it yet.

Beltec has a front and rear kit for the early 80s pickups. I have it installed on my 74 with some minor modifications

Addco will make full front and rear sets for you. I have them on my 78. I posted pictures and part numbers in another thread recently.

Im not sure if the frame is the same width, but I upgraded to a 30mm from a early 90's Chevy S-10 on my '76 Chinook.

I pulled a sway bar + bushing mounts from a wrecking yard, bought some flat stock, welded in the new bushing mounts, and grabbed some 3/8" Grade 8 bolts and lock washers and put it all together. Total cost was about $100 and a couple afternoons of work.

And Jimi is right - Addco makes a rear bark kit as well.
