I have about 4 inches of travel from my tires to the underside of my wheel wells. I hit small dips and my tires seem to rub. Will the gabriel hi-jacker shocks make my ride stiffer but let me keep my same ride height? Any other suggestions? I have already took a hammer to it for clearance and i am out or room for hammering.

The best fix for that isn't going to be a shock. I ran the Sway-A-Way torsions before I bagged and that eliminated 90% of the contact issues. As you may know, they are something like 30% stiffer.

Sway-A-Way torsions huh? I am not too familiar with the torsions of the truck. Where is a good place to pick them up from?

craigslist. you can try ebay and if all else fails, you can try summit too.

when i did my sway away bars on my truck, it also eliminated allot of rubbing up front. a set of bilstine HD's took away all the rub once i tuned in my ride. :waytogo:

i got sway away bars and beltech shocks. its ok for my drop on 205/40/17.
are the HD's stiffer than the beltech's? is it drop shock or more for stock height?

A stiffer shock like Bilstein will help a bit, but the problem is really in your currently soft spring rate.

Add a leaf, like a middle leaf. Build a custom leaf pack. I used piece from a 4WD leaf on my 91, and just built a bigger block to get it back down. I had huge rubbing issues on that truck. Sold it before I got around to fixing the front.

4x4 leaf pack minus a few leafs. Or air shocks might stiffen it up but might bring the truck up a bit if u air them up too much
