If a vehicle is smoking with blue/purpleish smoke how many other things could it be other than the piston rings?

It doesn't smoke very much when I'm driving it, just when I first start it up a large cloud comes out then it dies down. I noticed it started doing this after I put the headers and the new exhaust on, removing the cat (we don't have enforced emissions laws here)

Yup sounds like the valve stem seals are going away allowing oil to weep into the cylinders/intake tract while the rig is parked.
