So I went to the local salvage yard a few days ago and was looking for things I could swap out on the truck. I came across two 4cyl 4runners, and a V6 extracab SR5. I was graciously given a 6 cyl instrument cluster from SDYOTA and we were going to try to recalibrate the tach to work in my truck. Luckily one of the 4Runners still had what was left of a tach/speedo cluster. The clear plastic cover was beaten up and cracked pretty bad, so I took it apart and grabbed the 4cyl tach out of it. I replaced the tach with the 4cyl one and its just about ready to go. I haven't had a chance to install it yet due to locating an oil pressure switch for it.
My 4runner has intermittent wipers on it and I thought it would be cool to install it in my pickup. I was looking at the two 4Runners and was going to take the turn signal/wiper switch and remembered the back wiper on them. That's when I came across the extracab. Most of the dash was ripped apart already so all I had to do was remove the steering wheel and column cover. After that its just 4 screws on the switch, 2 screws on the connector, and it was mine.
I got around to installing the combo switch today and it works like a charm. I'll get some pictures posted a little later.
Originally I was going to swap the whole column out of a 4Runner so it would be adjustable but I only paid 25 bucks for the switch and 17 for the separate tach. I had seen a combo switch like this on ebay for 125 by itself. This seemed to be the easiest on the budget.:D

I installed intermittent wipers on my 89 4x4. I took the combo switch and plugged it in and it worked. Their is no modification for this to work, just bolt in the new switch. The intermittent wiper relay is already wired in the truck. I eventually put tilt wheel in it. This will only work for the 89-95 body styles that I'm aware of.

Unfortunately all the 'U pick' yards I passed were on the way home through PA. I wanted to stop and look around but did not have the time to do so. I STILL have drive lag from the trip and I've been home since Sunday!
