It's not official but signs continue to point in the right direction that we'll see Toyota return to its small truck roots with an all-new compact pickup sold by Scion for the 2014 model year. More...
I agree that the ABAT concept was a pretty horrific design. BUT, I think the good thing is that it could re-open the door to Toyota/Scion offering a low(er) cost small pickup, which is a VERY good idea.
yes, Toyota just needs to release a ^^ lower cost small pickup below the Tacoma, because the Tacoma is a freaking midsize truck now. Toyota can totally take over this market with a small pickup. for one, they have a nice 4cyl engine out there right now and even the V6's have great potential. if they wanna make a sport package, give us the 5.7L in it. It'll net at least 25+mpg with such little weight!
as long as I can toss 1000lbs in back and not worry about bending control arms and breaking struts, fine. and by that I mean put a few engine blocks in there to roll around and bang it up. it's ugly as sin.
That thing is hideous. Stupid cab forward type crap like the new tundra. If I wanted to drive while sitting on the front wheels I'd get an old Jeep forward control or VW double/single cab and at least have some style.
