I cant start my truck cold without hitting the gas pedal once first.. does this make remote start impossible cause of the kick down.. or is my carb just crap? Weber for remote start? Remote start just rubs me the right way

Tapping the gas sets the choke off the choke cam switch closing it as the vehicle warms up the choke cam rotates from a12v heater re clocking it to open . I haven't seen an oem carb or weber reset itself enough to the closed position by itself in a while

It's worth a try might be better in warmer climates when the choke is barely or rarely needed

Im in washington. Far from warm. I might have to dig into my RC hobby see if I csn get a remote made that has a channel to control an rc servo. Hook a cable to the servo so I push one button to set the cam choke second button to start.. custim baby

You might even start a new trend if you document the process well enough :D

Im not wasting my time and money on converting to a 22re. Owned and never been a huge fan of the 2rz..call me crazy.. love the 2j... gorgeously brilliant motor. But I feel deep down a 7mge is for me... period correct? Maybe why im not sure. Attractivly simple swap with mild performance options and major upgrade from 22r. But im not gonna rush my plans for remote start haha.my laundry list is stupid long before a motor swap

I feel you on the 7mge... I like the idea of the I-6 cylinder configuration for torque and it wont be an insane upgrade in power, but seems like a "perfect" fit in a truck that still hauls stuff on occasion:)

Sounds a whole lot better than a 22r too! Not as good as a 1uz though, imo.

There is a reason big rigs run I-6's...

Yes torque is a big plus for me. I can from hondas. Yes my names ryan and I drice a honda. Ill admit my problem and work on it. Im ready for some low end. My accord doesnt feel like it moves itself under 4000 rpms. Then it tears ur skull off.. well did. Its also in project mode again. And yes 1uzs.. 4.0 all aluminum v8 gets parts of me going it should not. But for my price range and skill level ill leave it to a dream.

EDIT: and for christ sakes the 7m bolts in. Thats effin the coolest thhing for me. Motor mount reconfiguring isnt a big deal but bolt in is crazy awsome.

run a block heater, might be enough that you wont really need the choke. I had one on my 77 here in Idaho and it was so nice!
