My exhaust manifold finally cracked on 77 pickup....So I figured lets go see how the market is on aftermarket headers I went to LCE for their headers and was advised that it wouldn't fit on my truck? Any recommendations on those that have replaced their exhaust manifold with aftermarket headers?

    I have a uncracked 20R manifold and a 22R manifold (4-2) if you're interested in just a replacement.

Im running a Flowtech header i picked up from summit racing. It seems like it was built good

PO put a Hedman header, from Summit, on my truck. Seems to work, flange just barely clears the steering box area but does fit. My truck is a pre-smog, so dunno if that will make a difference for you being in CA as well.

I’m running the same flowtech header as jetas and it seems like a good value. I would also recommend the LCE extended header studs. The stock ones are pretty short.

also I had to flip the bolts on the steering box to get it to clear.

Ah that's right, Jetas has one.
I did see those fancy studs you've got installed on there - nice

Man, the two brands (Flowtech and Hedman) look nearly identical to me - I wouldn't be surprised to find out they were produced by the same factory, lol.

I wouldn't be surprised. I'm pretty happy with the quality for ~130 bucks.

I've had my Doug Thorley headers on my truck since 1988.

I would think not. Headman is American made and flowtech is China owned by holley.

Those headers are not what they used to be. You should see the flanges on the new ones. Like omg how can they sell that bad.

thank you all! I ended up getting the flowtech ones. CO smog laws are as bad in my county (NoCo). So I went ahead and removed most of the smog parts it had. Will post pictures when complete!
