rear porprotioning valve

    when i bag my truck i know i need to T the lines off but i was just wondering if anyone had pics of this and how they did it.

    Mechanic shop did it for me

    I did that procedure on my 98 Taco. There is a line that runs from the front of the frame, near the firewall, and runs all the way back. The tee is by the firewall. I just eliminated that line and capped it off. Maybe that will give you an idea.

    I don't know, lol. I've bagged well over 100 rigs (many of them toyotas) and never even heared of this. Strange. And what is the purpose if it?

    when you put a load into the bed its supposed to equal out the braking I guess. but if you've bagged a yota im sure you've seen this. I heard you can just T the lines tht come off and into it. but im not sure on how to do that

    This what Im going to do below...its on a yotascene.com member's truck. Im sure you can get a t-fitting from any parts store like Napa or Advance Auto. Im going to redo the rear brake lines on my truck so they dont come near my c-notch.

    if its that much of concer just by pass it then go get a proportional valve for summit or jegs whatever then put it somewhere between the rear brake lines coming out of resivor and the lines going to the brakes that way you can adjust them if your hauling something a lil more tighter and if your not loosen it up a lil im guessing your hauling alot so thats why your stressing if not you can go with my setup which is just it feel off the axle so i cut the rod as short as it goes and let it hang the onlything its doing is thinking the rear is jacked so its not putting that much brake which is nice it dont lock them up like it use to i am going to get a proportional valve down the road and do it the non redneck way thats my opinion though is just get you that valve and be done with it then you can put the rearend where ever and how ever you want

    Crazy. Was it only on special models? I've never run across that in any of the ones I've done. (not even the tacos)

    im not hauling anything after I bag kit. I barely haul with it as it is. my 91 ex cab has it aswell just wondering what ppl do with this when they bag it

    Which is exactly why you don't want to just T the line. I, on the flip side have not seen an '86-95 without a LSPV. When you don't have much weight on the rear axle and send it full hydraulic pressure, the drums are likely to lock up in a panic stop. Maybe it doesn't seem like a big problem when you are going straight, but if you are going around a turn and it's wet, a little lock up can be a big problem. Since the drum require less pressure to actuate, the manual proportioning valve will allow you to adjust the amount of pressure that the wheel cylinders receive.
