I have a 1990 ext-cab which had a 22RE engine with 5sp tranny. Well I guess it has a 7.5" rear-end in it. I will be very soon doing a LS1 swap. With that being said I was wondering if I have a drive shaft made to fit the 7.5" rear-end and later switch over to a 8" with a Supra third member will I have to get a new drive shaft for 8" rear-end? Or would I be better off just waiting to do the 8" rear-end and get a drive shaft made for it?

I think the pinion flange bolt holes are the same, but I'm not sure about the length of the 7.5" third member compared to the 8". I''m currently using a shaft from a 4x4.

pretty sure drive shaft lengths are the same.I can remember going from a 7.5 to an 8 without changing drive shafts.
