we bought my girl a radio flyer wagon ages ago. it's been torn apart forever, and i finally got a start on it last night. i'm probably going overboard, but it's for my kids... so it's o.k. :D

here is the starting point, with wheels and steering removed

i made a center mount, and made upper and lower control arm mounts.

here is the rod end i'll use as ball joints for the control arms

and how the front wheel cut out looks

Very very nice!!!! I love it.

That was the same route that we were going to go with my sons, but we changed directions at the last moment. I'll post some pics of it here if you want, or if you would like instead, I'll start a different thread so I don't clutter up yours, lol.

I'd extend the cab/chassis/frame tub thing like a foot and put a mower engine in the back :D

    That's my opinion lol

but yeah Bern, nice work so far! gunna put a radio in there too?

Cool, well in that case, here is the one my son and I built. (he's now 4 years old)

The LED headlights and taillights all work, we frenched in the license plate, narrowed the tub, fully carpeted, custom zoomies, full tube chassis, caster/camber/toe all built into the front suspension. Full race bearings make it roll so easy that he can actually pull me in it too. It converts over to have an actual steering wheel and column in it also for gravity racing. As he gets older I have an electric motor for it also.

He's already won twice with it

The biggest problem with these, is they start to consume your life. You have to know when to call it good (because remember it's just a wagon, lol). You can get so crazy detailed with these, (just like your mini), so be carefull not to get too wrapped up in it or else it starts to take over your life like your mini does, lol. I had to keep telling myself "it's just a wagon", lol.

    damn creepy that's sweet!!!!

i didn't want to get crazy. it's my wife. she wants the kids to be able to adjust the suspension while they are riding in it. i'm gunna find some 1/8" manual valves.

also i need to look into getting some stickies made up...

    Thanks!

Yep, it'll be fun for them to be able to drag it while you're pulling them around at shows and such. :waytogo:

Yep, manual valves for sure. the last ones I bought where pretty cheap. I still have a set for the next project that my son and I build too.

With cylinders that small, you should be able to run a paintball tank with CO2 and get quite a few lifts.

Just let me know on the stickers, we'll get you hooked up, lol.
