jump the TE and E connectors, time it to 5, or 7 (i think Ted from engnbldr said 7, i can't remember)

Where is the te and e connectors? And what's the reason for jumping them? Also how can I set it to 5 or 7 if there is is only a 1258 on the timing indicator??

approximate. 7 is between 5 and 8 but closer to 8.

5 is stock, 7 is suggested for a little extra oomph. Mines around 10 I think (given cold weather)

Te and E1 are in the diagnostics connector next to the fuse box. you have to do this to put it in base timing mode so it doesn't bounce the timing all over while you're doing it. actual timing is adjusted based on coolant temp, air temp, afr, afm, revs, etc. base timing at idle is fixed.

    Yeah, pretty much.

No other way to explain, thanks Russ!

Ok so I set it to 10* to see how it feels and it felt a little very slightly quicker. Im assuming set it to ten degrees from 5* is advancing it? Or did I retard it??

If you're moving the timing mark "counter clock wise", that's advancing it, which is better than retarding it.
Give 7* a try, or ask Ted.
