92 GMC RWD Sonoma Gabriel "Load Carrier" shocks. No modification needed. I know its not super cool adjustable racing coilover struts but I am a bolt on kind of dude and I don't plan on getting rid of the stock torsion bar suspension anytime soon. I will say that swapping from kYB Gas Adjust shocks it really didn't make a huge significant difference in ride but it is a slight improvement. I don't have much history with Gabriel products so I guess I will see how reliable they end up. They definitely feel hydraulic vs the KYB gas shocks but with the spring I wasn't able to compress the shock by hand vs the KYB which is difficult to compress but doable. So In the end I would say maybe 10-15 % gain in ride stiffness over the kyb which isn't very impressive but good kyb shocks are kind of hard to beat. Ill run them for now and will swap out the rears soon.
A buddy if mine had something like those on the rear of his truck. Didnt seem to make much of a difference.
yeah the rears are easy to come by because Gabriel has an application for 2wd Toyota pick ups but nothing for the front. But these for a 92 Sonoma seem to bolt right up in case if anybody was curious. But yea I wasn't super impressed coming from kyb gas adjust. They seem good though and were cheaper.
Gabriel "Front Spring Assist Shock" part number #34051. The first pic should be a pic of the box with the label.
I did the same thing with Monroe shocks on mine, I liked the tighter coils that they had on the front: But I rocked the Monroes out back for a while: that was before I got drop springs so I could ditch the blocks.
looks like, the fronts were Monroe 58270 and the rears were either 58645 or 58575, I can't remember. For the rear it definitely depends on whether you run drop springs or not, because that will change your shock length unlike blocks.
