1st. Shame on me for not taking better notes/pics
2nd. Shame on me for allowing a buddy to install new bearings...I ended up with 2 axles that are more 'oval' shaped at the spline...:(

That being said, I bought a new axle(both sides) & got the bearings PROPERLY set in.

Now here lies in my problem...

To My memory, I thought the axle housing and the break plates match up evenly flush?
-I haven't started wrenching on them yet but i thought they were flush when I took them out...?

Anyone have any ideas on that?
They go in no problem but only set as far as pictured.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.:waytogo:

Turn lift push. Turn lift push. Jiggle. Wiggle. Push. A bunch of those in different orders

IIRC there's a c-clip on the spline-end of the axle shafts - is this just an issue of getting past those?

I wish. Just broke out the tape measure. The old axle from bearing retainer to spline tip(end of axle) measured 23-5/8. The new one i picked up semi-local(58mi each way o_O) measured 24-1/8"......yeah. i know my prob now. :verdict_in:
-at least the guy i picked it up from is cool a.f. and willing to swap me out and give me a hand.
    :D

Ah, yes that would definitely not fit. Each generation got a little bit wider - Seller has the correct axle you need though?

Better plan on new bearings too. Unfortunately, once you press them on the seals get destroyed when removed.
