im trying to cut the inner fender wells out, but i have to move things around, i have read up here a while back that some stuff is not needed, therefore can be gotten rid of, so my questions are the parts in the pics what are they? are they needed, and can they be removed without hurting performance? and in the second pic the cable attached to the black box in the corner runs to the efi, so i beleive it has something to do with the throttle, so my question about that is, what exactly is it? thanx for any help.

note, once your charcoal canisters are removed, you'll notice a rush of air when you open the gas cap. I'm unsure if it's sucking air into the tank, or blowing fumes out ( i would think sucking air in), either way...that's the only difference you'll notice.

    Relocation relocation relocation. :D
The charcoal canister can work if it is right next to the gas tank also.

If you remove the charcoal canister and leave the line open, it'll vent gasoline vapor into th engine bay when it warms up, and suck fresh air in when it cools off. if it goes whoof when you open the gas cap it's because the line was capped off. BTW it's pushing out, the gas cap is vented with a check valve so it can pull in fresh air but not release hydrocarbons (evaporated gas)

basically it allows you to keep the fumes and re-use it. I'm gunna leave mine in.
