well I'm back in a mini after a couple years off since my last build "a severely abused 95 single/short" and I'm more or less headed in a similar build direction (daily/autox truck).

So now introductions for Hisa, she's a 1985 extra cab sr5 turbo 5spd, just broke 150k miles and everything works as it should except the aftermarket fuel gauge that the previous owner ruined the dash to install

For now I just installed a Djm 3/4 kit with a bj flip torsions turned. When I got it the rear was sitting on stacked flat blocks with bent ubolts and the front was sitting on stops with a bent lca. It's all stock except for a drop in filter/BOV/ turbo back exhaust.

It also had a super wore out drag link that I'm glad I got to before it broke going down the freeway



First time I've had one come apart with a pickle fork, had to get creative to get it out.



Plans are to do 1ton torsion/sways, wheels and tires, fix up the interior. I would love a little more power but not sure if you can safely just up the boost like you could with the 90's turbo dsm's (I'm familiar with those but not the 22rte platform) I hear these are 5psi stock and you can push 10psi without a tune but I haven't found a good write up I can trust yet

I'll post more pics as the build progresses, but I got a 51 Plymouth street/strip project I'm also building up and just had my first baby so progress may be slower than I'd like lol

Well I got some new wheels off a mustang 17x9 with 245/40/17 on all 4 corners. Also paid for my 1ton torsion/swaybars yesterday so looking forward to having those show up

What part of Ventura are you in?

 

I work in saticoy but live on Ventura Ave.

I do plan on ditching the 22rte in favor of a 1uz but I would have to have a buyer for the turbo swap before I got serious about it

 

Has this been early last year i wouldve bought the RTE from you

Made some press in double shoulder two piece delrin bushings for the rear swaybar since mine didn't come with any..... and even if they did they would be shot so..... yeah lol

Looking to get rid of the 22rte? I would like to do a rebuild of one, but seeing as mine is my DD, it needs to stay under the hood.

 

Yeah I wanna sell it and do a v8 swap, I hear you get 260hp and 26mpg so I'm all for it. It would kinda suck though because it's rare and only has 150k on it but I'm sure it would find a good home

 

Got the rest of my bushings for $86. Almost ready for the instal buuut I'm feeling extra lazy and still need to fill all the orders for the delrin bushings so probably have to wait another week
