has anyone ran a glasspack with a canister muffler. like the 3A racing type fart can? would this set up make it louder or tone it down a bit? my N1 muffler has started to sound like poo lately and i got it on lift and noticed there are a crap load of leaks at the welds (sad considering i went to muffler shop). there is a lil rattle (thinkin a rock) inside the muffler itself so wanna take it all out and start over.

is your N1 a straight flow through?
    i'd fix the welds too.
I run a magnaflow, straight flow through (except it has two 45* bends lol.

I had a piece of my cat break and rattle inside the exhaust and spin around, before. one time it caught caught and shot out the back of my truck :D

yeah, its a straight flow. im pretty sure its the welds causing the crap tone, but just wanna redo since i have to take everything off to get rock outta muffler. spun tires in reverse on gravel and think one went in. been rattling ever since. but i figured put the glasspack in the place of all the adapters and eliminate like 8 welds. this had real hack job. cant believe an actual muffler shop did it. i have a magnaflow off my turbo escort somewhere in shop, but too busy to dig and try to find it.

its pretty much straight from cat, then bout a foot or so of pipe with like 4 diff adapters, then muffler. stops right inside the front leaf spring perch. i didnt think it was posible to get anything in it, but was really mad bout something so the gravel was flying out from the front of the truck. and i plan to do the welding myself so i know its done right!

A glasspack will act like a esonator in the sestem and will take out the buzz in a fart can.

man......... i cant imagine how loud your cab is runnin down the road.

these trucks ran (and IMO) sounded better with a decent exhaust runnin out the stock location... and ill give you two reasons. 1) given you have a good muffler, a decent header, and tip out to the side, you can always hear the tone being the exhaust dumped out the drivers side making it easier to hear. 2......... just listen to this video clip :D

its about 4in diameter. it actually looks bigger than it really is. and the only place to unbolt it is at the flange at manifold. cant get exhaust at right angle to get out without cutting so when i redo it, im puttin header collectors on so it unbolts right before cat. unless there is some trick to getting it out without unbolting motor mounts and jacking engine up. and the way it looks, that prob wont work either.
and as far as the sound, its not loud at all at highway speeds. sounds real good actually. its just the pulling from lights thats a bit annoying. hopefully i can get it changed this weekend.
