Polishing valve covers

    93 2wd pickup "home depot" / 2004 Toyota Sequoia 4x4
    I just picked up a spare cover to clean up and want to polish. What did those who have done it before how did you do it and what did you use.

    get a polishing "kit" sold at homes depot...... usually contains sand paper consisting of a few various grits like 600, 800, 1000, and 12 or 1500 grit papers. go through and sand it down with each paper untill completely smooth. going up to 12 or 1500 grit will start to polish the aluminum, then, with a good high speed drill or buffer, you can use a roush and buffing wheel to polish it out.

    look up on youtube, there are lots of good visual video's for this too. may help explain better.
