off with the EGR valve

    So my EGR valve is bad and rather than spend 120 on one right now I just got a block off kit from lce performance for 24 bucks. I want woundering is their anything I need to block off beside the 2 holes for the EGR? Its a 22r carb moter. Pic would help thx TM membera

    the vacuume line supplying the egr. other then that you're good.

    Ok and when I take off the EGR will I have to re tune anything (carb/dis)

    not really, the egr only works when you are cruising on the freeway, shouldnt effect idle or WOT performance. hell your truck might run better with it off and wont need any tuneing.

    eh

    So I got the block off kit on thusday and everything was going smooth untill I was tighting the bolt to the block off plate on the side of the head. I didn't even get to tightin the bolt very much and the threds on the head striped out :(. How good are thos fix a thred things at autozone? Or should I just go to my auto shop and re-tap the threds?

    Try retap first before you heli coil or time cert

    edit: Stupid auto text on my phone messed up that message

    Helicoils work pretty good but try re-tapping 1st.
