odometer stopped rolling

    i'm at 115k on my '90 toyota p/up and the odometer has stopped rolling. any tips on how I can repair this problem? thanks..

    1988 Reg Cab Deluxe RN50
    Make sure that the cable is connected at the transmission and at the cluster rear end Or cable could be broke. You could remove cluster and roll truck and see if end of cable spins while moving to check that. Could also be a bad mechanism in cluster, you might could fix that or just replace cluster with another if that is it.

    everything else in the cluster works except the mileage rolling.i'll check the cable thanks bro

    wassap chelu, also i think there is a plastic gear in the trans to where that cable hooks up n it spins n thats how it reads the miles. check n see in da madduk in da trans if the gear is ok.

    OK, guys, lets think here: if everything else (like the SPEEDOMETER) is working, IT'S NOT THE CABLE.

    The odometer is geared off the side of where the cable comes into the cluster. If you can get it out, you're smart enough to figure out how it works. only trick is that the speedo needle just pulls off the shaft. When putting it back together, stick it back on at zero (resting spot for the mechanism).
