My name Is Van, I'm in Portland Oregon restoring a 78 hilux. I looked around and this seems to be the best forum for me.
I'm a Rigger in the NW and screen printing shop owner.
I do all the work on my rigs short the machine work, always interested in learning something new.
I bought a 78 Toyota hilux sr5 with 34000 miles super stock and hidden in a barn for years. There's a few dents here and there but everything works and is pristine in the cab. The original motor has some weirdness, even with low miles the receipt pile in the glovebox shows alot of work done since it was bought new, ie. rings and timing chain in the early 80s and head work in the late 80s.
I just pulled the motor due to bad compression and huge amounts of blowby, currently building an 84 celica 22r block to put under my 20r top end.
Engnbldr is doing my block and boring to .040 master kit and whichever cam he recommends.

Pick of my truck, not sure how to make it show as a image instead of a link
