I figured since I finally got my truck titled, I'd quit lurking and register already. She's a 1985 reg cab long bed base. 2wd 5 spd. I got it for the princely sum of $0. It's in pretty decent shape considering it's age and the fact that it's sat outside since day one. It's got a pretty straight cab and front clip...but the bed is wasted (as are most in my area it seems) Havent turned any wrenches yet, as it runs perfectly and the ac blows really cold. It's a 3rd vehicle for me. I've got a set of 4" tapered blocks for it and a thorley header...also all for free. I've got to get rid of the awful shell and collect an engine gasket set and ball joints, then the fun begins.

    Here it is:

thanks fellas! the picture doesn't really tell the story of the bed. lol that l/r corner is pretty bad...the usual rust along the seam is on both sides of course. I'm pretty certain that the bed floor is gone also. I'll have a better idea later this week when we lower it and ditch the shell.

I'm thinking of going with a 185-75-14 white wall on it...anybody have a similar drop (approx 4/4) with that tire size or close?

I thought so too...but the size that's on it now (195-75-14) is only .6'' taller overall. I'm aiming for a slightly shorter/narrower tire to keep the setup proportionate (in my eyes) with the drop. Also, it should provide the extra clearance needed for when I add leaf springs and spindles to the mix later on.

    Looking good!

Love those '80's graphics....looks like a highway with a sharp left and a right!

Its like a anti-nascar graphic, lol
