here she was in all her glory with the stock setup authentic keysone customs staggered width/size/offset vintage 70's 14x6 (0 offset?) and 15x6 (definitly neg offset) both with 195/60's 14's 15's gotta love local art
yes they do stick out, but i think it looks right fronts rears for those who care there is absolutly no rub. i went 1 wheel at a time over a curb. this truck started life as a 3/4 ton but then had extra leafs put in and spring assist old skool coilovers. 2 complete 2xrs and most of a corona dont even compress the leafs... lil bit of a rough ride, but above all this is a truck to haul $hit. which it does great
I like it ! I like the new shoes ! They match the truck quite well, retro look 4 sure. Like ya said itsa parts haulR'. Would love to see some spray on the truck and wheels cleaned up, that truck would be smoking. All in all, lovN it ! L o w N l o u d
Nice love the retro look... Is it me or does the rear axle look as its not centered in the wheel opening....
nice. all you need to do now is to get rid of the rust. I would kept it original. what year is your truck??
yep the rear axl isnt centered i got a couple of theory's as to why... 1. that is not the original bed, the eng bay is army green and under the tan on the bed its blue. so maybe this bed is from a newer chassis and the wheelbase changed, information on these trucks is hard to find and owners of this old of a truck are even harder to find. 2. this truck started life as a 75 SR5 3/4 ton but there has been leafs added and or changed plus spring assist shocks (old skool coil overs) on there too, i think it was set up for a camper, unbelieveable stiff ride with 2 22rs in it. sometimes the center pin is offset on the spring so maybe when the rear was torn apart the springs were installed backwards. im planning on swapping to a chevy luv style stepside bed, when i find one im gonna thourghly inspect the springs and see what i can do
went and made a impluse craigslist buy today 97 mustang cobra 18's ] lil bit of a test fit before tires keystone's are for sale if anybody is interested gonna go photoshop up a "artists conception" only paid $175 for em, the guy was like "got a divorce, wife got the stang, what year do you have?" "dont got a stang, gonna put these on this 75 hilux " "this truck?"
plan to static drop it to this height, then use air shocks to get it driveable. its gonna be a work truck after all
looks sweet, the auto recycler has like 40 complete sets of rims for the svt mustang brand new w/ rubber (goodyear, 255/40/18?) for $1000, wish i could get a set.
thx for the love gonna have rubber bands on em this weekend, then after fitment and a lil driving if i can find the right blocks ill need ill static drop it too, but that might be a few weeks out. new bed and flat black paint comin REAL soon...
got em on turns out i was wrong, they are 17's not 18's. learned a powerful lesson today: you can measure a rim from lip to lip but you need to take 1.5in off the measurement for the correct rim size (most rims). enuff of my humility on to the pics before nope these tires are a lil too big (245/55/17) giggling at dubs on it, belive it or not they fit pretty good too but i hate chromed aluminum. mmm tasty :lick: money shot ended up with 245/45/17's of some spanky new rubber, first new tires ive had in years. only rub at full crank, and this truck can drive in a circle on a a 2 lane country road with no shoulder so i can live with that, its mostly cuz these rims are WAY F'n wider then the stock ones. bed comin up next... or maybe dropping first then bed, we'll see what happens.
reads a lil bit faster, but did before with stock sized tires. i only lost 1in+/- i use a GPS for a speedo right now it has a 4:38 for a rear, im going to swap to a 3:73 asap for freeway happiness.
