for those who care there is absolutly no rub. i went 1 wheel at a time over a curb. this truck started life as a 3/4 ton but then had extra leafs put in and spring assist old skool coilovers. 2 complete 2xrs and most of a corona dont even compress the leafs...

lil bit of a rough ride, but above all this is a truck to haul $hit. which it does great:D

yep the rear axl isnt centered

i got a couple of theory's as to why...

    1.
that is not the original bed, the eng bay is army green and under the tan on the bed its blue. so maybe this bed is from a newer chassis and the wheelbase changed, information on these trucks is hard to find and owners of this old of a truck are even harder to find.

    2.
this truck started life as a 75 SR5 3/4 ton but there has been leafs added and or changed plus spring assist shocks (old skool coil overs) on there too, i think it was set up for a camper, unbelieveable stiff ride with 2 22rs in it. sometimes the center pin is offset on the spring so maybe when the rear was torn apart the springs were installed backwards.

im planning on swapping to a chevy luv style stepside bed, when i find one im gonna thourghly inspect the springs and see what i can do

    got em on

turns out i was wrong, they are 17's not 18's. learned a powerful lesson today:

you can measure a rim from lip to lip but you need to take 1.5in off the measurement for the correct rim size (most rims).

enuff of my humility on to the pics

    before
    [IMG]

nope these tires are a lil too big (245/55/17)

giggling at dubs on it, belive it or not they fit pretty good too but i hate chromed aluminum.

    mmm tasty :lick:

    money shot

ended up with 245/45/17's of some spanky new rubber, first new tires ive had in years.

only rub at full crank, and this truck can drive in a circle on a a 2 lane country road with no shoulder so i can live with that, its mostly cuz these rims are WAY F'n wider then the stock ones. bed comin up next...

or maybe dropping first then bed, we'll see what happens.

reads a lil bit faster, but did before with stock sized tires. i only lost 1in+/- i use a GPS for a speedo :D

right now it has a 4:38 for a rear, im going to swap to a 3:73 asap for freeway happiness.
