uhh, just posting some pictures of the dash trim piece that everyone seems to need.

i used one from my truck that was in good shape as a template.. you could easily just cut some cardboard and test fit...cut..refit.. etc.

then cut a strip for the edge.. also could use cardboard if you don't have a good factory one to measure/trace..

i used a street sign, and it was extremely easy to weld compared to all the sheet metal i am used to messing with, i forgot how kind metal is the thicker it gets.. the street sign gauge is plenty strong for holding a radio with only a thin strip at the bottom and top between the a/c controls.

for adding the a/c controls back to a new piece of metal i used clip nuts on the plastic tabs that the screws usually go through to attatch to the factory trim piece..on the left side of the a/c controls, i just drilled to holes in the face and is mostly covered by the gauge trim piece, and the two screws go into the clip nuts, on the right side, i used the clip nuts threading the opposite direction, so it tightens the screws against the back of the trim piece, holding it against the face that overlaps out of the hole cut( use factory hole as a guide for this).

option B which i did on a toyota in the past, is to just add a piece of metal (i used aluminum diamond plate) over the existing trim piece with tabs on the end and a cut slot into the edge of factory trim piece. so that i only had the one screw where factory screw is to the right of the steering wheel, and i might have added one more in the upper left corner, anyways, then you can cut out the holes for the a/c control, the pocket thing in the upper corner and make a single din opening centered over the ash tray and old radio location.

i don't have any pictures digitalized of the second method.. but i can draw a sketch and take a document picture of it if someone can't get the idea of my discription.

alright, im retarded and my pictures didn't load. trying again,.. they are too big, not that into computers, will reply with a link to cardomain or something

    got the pictures this time

alright, here's a new cardomain of the dash. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3081322

i forgot that on the right side of the dash, i added about a 1/4" lip on the face of the edge that protrudes from the flat big face part of the trim piece.. you can see it on the pictures, the reason is that it looked funny the trim piece can either fit on the first or second groove on the dash edge, and i ended up fitting it deeper, on the second groove, but that left about an inch at the top right that did not have the groove and therefor left a gap 1/4" wide where the dash pad did not cover and the metal dash stopped caring... so i added that before i painted it..

and i haven't tightened down the screw on the left, or painted it black instead of red.. for all of the over analyzers out there. and you can notice where i scratched the dash underneath the trim piece when i was test fitting it and installing it.. D'oh

and i could have legally come across a street sign.. lol i think it's possible anyways... don't get me started on street signs.. teen age antics

template would be easy, finding enough street signs would be difficult, j/k... when i get a min. i will see if the metal i cut for the dash piece will make a good template to trace.. take a picture or scan it.. and someone can just download and blow it up or shrink it too fit? to match some general meas.
    but no promises
