Hey all! Just scored a 1980 sr5 with a rebuilt motor. In the process of going through the whole damn thing, as the previous owner had it garaged and didnt run it for the last two years. I've been waiting for a truck like this for 20+ years!
it runs... Very well, in fact. the lady that owned it had several other vehicles and just didnt drive it. I'm in a fight with it right now to get it smog legal in ca. It runs rich at 2500 rpm, so I'm attacking every possible issue as to why its soing this. Two years in a garage and 30 years of life will cause a few issues, I guess.
Welcome! Your truck resembles my girlfriend's truck in HS. She had an '81 copper brown metallic short bed SR5 with the same exact wheels in the summer of 1981. Two months after she got hers, I got my '82 SR5 in the Fall 1981. In my opinion, the '79-'83 are the best! Where are you located in the Central Valley? Also, hit me up if you are in need of parts.
