    Hello everyone.

I just picked up an 84 LB Hilux a few weeks ago after selling my 09 yaris. Since this is my only vehicle now my first goal is to make it as dependable as possible which shouldn't take much cause the 22r is virtually indestructible. However, there is a few minor problems that need fixed like temp and fuel gauge not working. Next would be static dropping it as far as possible. I've had a bagged and bodied mini in the past and being nothing but a headache I want to avoid air-ride. One question I have is, Has anyone done 3" drop blocks with 3" drop leafs?

Thanks ahead of time for any advice.

Welcome to TM! That would be one hell of a drop! You could probly do it with the help of a c-notch. You probly know this already, but I highly recommend drop spindles.

    Oh yeah, any pics?

Welcome to TM bro. I just put on my drop leafs and im about to get my Notch done so i can slap on some 4in blocks. But if you want to do drop leafs and 3in blocks you will still need the notch done or your going to have your axle on the frame.

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it. In the front I plan on doing spindles a b/j flip (unless it only applies to pre-84 models) and torsions. A C-notch wouldn't be to tough but I hate to cut into the frame maybe I'll reconsider the block/leaf combo. lol

ya if you dont want to cut the frame and still want to go low then there is a couple thing you could do to the back without cutting. 4in blocks in back, 3in blocks and middle leaf pulled, Drop leafs with a 2 in block. Those would be the only ways to get the most drop possible without having to cut the frame to go lower. If you slap on some 195/60/14 on your stock rims would help go lower to but you speedo would be off by 10 mph.

This might be a dumb question but I must not be taking somethin into account. When I look between the driveshaft and the frame, there's like 8-10" between the top of the drive shaft and the bottom of the frame... with a 3/3 drop would that not leave still room? Haha please explain if someone would. Am I completely off here? Thanks. Dgerfan55 what all is done to the truck in ur profile pic?

A 3/3 drop would be fine. but you said drop leafs (3") and 3" drop blocks which is a total of 6" so you would need a mini notch. unless i missed something? haha sorry if im just confusing you!

Yes there is that much room but the problem your going to have is the axle smacking the frame on bumps, holes, speed bumps ext. A 3/3 drop would be good. Wouldnt have any problems. If i got that right your talking about a 3in drop in front and a 3in drop in the back right?. In my pic i have torions turned in front and B/J flip, the back has 3in blocks and middle leaf pulled. So i would have a 4/4 drop. But i just put drop leafs on and im going to get a notch done so i can put my 4in blocks on. Plus i still have to put my drop spindals on to. Trying to go 6/6 drop.

I really appreciate the help and apologize for any confusion ha. I meant to say distance between axel and frame not "drivrshaft" and I meant 3" leafs and 3" blocks by 3/3 but I realize that didn't make sense. (Not so uptodate on my lingo) lol. A 4/4 drop looks pretty damn good though I must say.

Thanks. Ya a 4/4 dop is about as low as you can go till the axle starts hitting on the frame. I want to go atleast another 2 or 3in. Just try the 3/3 drop and see i you like it and then if not then there is room or more.
