I have a question. I have swapped a 1990 4Runner interior in my 1993 standard cab. (Dash, tilt wheel, seats, headliner, center consule, power windows blah, blah) you get the idea.

Now when I went to put the 1990 4Runner door panels on they where too short! Yes, about 4-5". Yeah, that is a good way to kill a good project in its tracks for the time being.

Anybody have any door panel ideas? Fiberglass? Diamond Plate? Money is an issue but, I am a do it yourselfer. I was going to do a wooden panel with fabric over it (like the old style wood with vinyl wrapped over it) but, I can't find a color that goes with the Toyota grey interior.

    Thanks!

When you say 'short', do you mean they were smaller vertically or horizontally?

I can't tell from your post if you still have your original 1993 truck door panels. If so - why not tweed them?

Just some MDF, fleece, and fiberglass resin. Wrapped in vinyl to match the factory panel - kind of a "hybrid" panel.

    That looks sweet!!!

Is that a cross over in the door?

Oh, and how did you attach it to the door?

Yes they are the crossovers, I used two sets of the Fusion Jonah Lomu series 5 1/4" components. Front and rear.
I attached the pods from the back of the panel and then just snapped the panel back into place. Oh, there is also a screw through the back of the pod into the door behind the crossover.

Not too long. Probably about 8 hours or so. Let 'em sit overnight then covered them. I do have to recover them though. It was my first attempt at vinyl and the contact cement I used was old and didn't stick too well. I may recover them in velour (the same material as my seats.)
