my bags are here and i still cant decide how i wanna bag the rear, If i wanna do a bag on axle or bag on bar i want whatever will make it lay the lowest. I am gonna build what ever myself welding is not an issue its the design i cant decide. it will be a forward 3 or 4 link i have no prob moving the gas tank either, just want something simple and basic pictures would be great.
bag on bar bro!!!!!!! its the only way to go... i have bag on axle on my nissan and its a rough ridin SOB... however, every bag on bar vehicle i have ever ridin in has rode like a Cadillac... here is my nissan...
I think it will be a nicer setup if you relocate the gas tank. Then a 4-link will be possible. What you can come up with yourself will make it more unique.
P.S. NEVER MOUNT YOUR COMPRESSORS ON THEIR SIDES AS I DID... the piston only wears on one side of the cylinder wall and after a few short months they will be trash, just like mine were... i learned the lesson the hard way, dont make the same mistake i did...
makes sense that a compressor would wear away like that. i see so many mounted on their side, could qualitly of compressor help?
Viair comps are probably the best out there. An I'd suggest a bag on bar. I've had two trucks bag on bar an I won't have anything else unless it's a cantilever. Just come up with a design an go for it
If you want simple, I would suggest raising the stock tank to above frame level. If you have space, raise it up a good inch or more above frame level to protect it. And run a wishbone 3 link to clear the tank. You could run bags on bars depending on how much space you have around the tank, or run rear facing lift bars. Or a cantilever setup would work as well. Check out how Seth at twistedminis does his 3 link kit and use it for ideas.
