I am looking into getting this truck. its a 83 toyota pickup 4x4. looking to finish up a rock crawler project someone didnt have time to complete. 83's came with solid axel front and rear? I will attach photos and any help on the photos would be great before I make the trip to see this in person. Not sure what I am getting into.

keep in mind when you look into getting someone's unfinished project..... you could be getting into something you will be starting from ground one. since it was somoeone elses ideas and thought process, it may differ from your view on how something should be built.

look it over.......... look it over well........ and look it over again. be sure you are willing to take it on. from what i can see, it has a standard lift and a cage that was in process of being built. beyond that, if it starts up, runs, drives well, and the price is right, i say it "looks" like a fairly good start to a crawler.

he is asking $2000 obo. The engine was just rebuilt runs strong. suspension wise I would be starting from ground zero. Does a stock 83 toyota 4x4 run solid axels front and rear though?

I believe anything 4wheel drive 85 and older is solid front axle.

well it appears to have stock steering (j arms break alot), exo is hideous and find out if he used dom, hrew, chromoly etc, has it been geared in the diffs, dual cases or not, lockers?, front axle rebuilt, stock or broken birfs?, w56 tranny or not etc etc, i wouldnt ever pay more than 2000 grand for something like that, id try and ween him down to 1500,

sounds like you are paying 2 grand for 2 axels, a trans and a motor...not worth it..1000 max...
