IS THIS THE WAY THE FRONT BAG IS SUPPOSE TO LOOK AT THE FULL UPRIGHT POSITION I DONT THINK IT DOES BUT IM NEW TO THE BAG THING
Hey man, that standoff plate should have a complete place for the entire bag base to mount on. That setup looks to be a accident waiting to happen with your mounting bolts and such. Try plating it and making sure the bag base mounts completely flat on the top and bottom, some roll on the bag is acceptable and is normal because unless a/the suspension your modding to moves straight up and down - you will have some roll, too much and some bags " roll over ". . .
it looks to me like the lower bag bracket isn't bolted in the right set of holes. it should bolt on using the same holes that the strut bars use. that is the same bracket my yota had when i got it, and with a 2500# bag it set right flat on the bracket. it almost looks like thats a 2600# bag judging by how much space its taking.
. . . I cut that bracket off mine because I didnt like the way it looked, plus I installed the new lower bracket I got from candospecialties.com, my stock bracket was all warped and dented up, so OFF to the scrap it went . . .
well thanks the guy i got the truck from didnt seem like ne new to much bout it but i wanted yalls opinion so i kno how to do it the right way ill probably go out and fix it in a lil bit thanks for the help
most 2500 and 2600# bags are around 3" deflated. if you only have the 4 popper in the truck a 2500 is all you need. it will also hold a small block v-8, but the pressure has to be alot higher. it's pretty tight properly fitting a 2600# bag. the way i moved my bag in and kind of under the frame gives me 10" of lift, which i think is more than stock ride height.
im only gettin like a 5 1/2 inch lift with mine i dont think the guy new what he was doing any suggestions
check out this link, just do the bag install and skip the sectioning of the engine x member. its how i did mine.http://www.minitruckinweb.com/tech/chassis/0702mt_toyota_truck_front_air_bags/index.html
