I have a 91 ext cab V6 4x4.. it was my fathers and I am trying to fix it back up.
it has 140k and it did the not wanting to shift into high when the motor was cold until it had warmed up.

I changed the air filter and when with a larger wheel and tire in the same day, it got much better, tomrrow I am doing a bumper to bumper fulid change as well as tranny filter. I figure that will help it also....
Only thing I did that "should" have made a diff maybe was replacing the really dirty filter, but it shifts much better and hits OD sooner now.

sounds like its slippin.. check your fluid level when its warm and parked on a level surface... hope the transmission gods are smiling and its just low on fluid.

i know the automatics lock out of O/D until warm. once its warm and past 35mph, i'll jump into OD when on
