had to drive 1 1/2 hours to get, but i think it was well worth it. it pops up and completely out. all new seals in it too. im working on a new solid headliner since i almost destroyed the vinyl crap that was in it. i have to build a spacer ring for the sunroof anyway, so thought might as well do a custom headliner. wish me luck!

sweet! speaking of sunroofs, anybody know where to get new seals for oldschool roofs? my 83 has a split roof but the seals are old and a little leaky

i had this taking up space and thought the backing would be perfect for the headliner. it flexes just enough and almost perfect size.

got the old crap bow style headliner out. left the padding in cuz its been a bit cold lately.

i have two different ideas to fill the 5/8" gap that i need to fill to get sunroof brackets to tighten up and seal correctly. 1st one was to cut a smaller hole than needed and then bend down to make like a "L", but dont think it will work due to the roof having slight curve to it. my backup idea is shaving down a piece of thick styrofoam i have from a previous project. and it will also give a somewhat insulation property to it. now just gotta get the local upholstery guy to sel me a piece of 4x3ft material. he's been wanting to do my truck, but he is a bit pricey. he wanted $400 for just the seats! so paying him to do it is out of the question. well, thats about it for now. more pics when i get more done. mother nature always decides to be a bitch on my days off!!
