I’m trying to narrow down my selection of wheels I know I’m wanting 17 inch diameter but some of the ones I’m looking at vary in width between 7 and 8.5 inches. Anybody with any experience on running something as wide as like a 235 with manual steering? I’m assuming narrower is better in this situation. Would something around a 215/45/17 make that much of a difference and turning force compared to running like a 235. Of course I guess I would have more of a rubbing issue with 235s as well. My planned drop is a 3/3

A bigger factor in steering effort is the wheel offset. More negative offsets (from stock) will make the steering harder. I'm not sure what more positive offset (from stock) will do because nobody (including me) gets wheels that tuck in more than stock.

The issue is the "scrub radius". In theory, wheels/tires with the same scrub radius as stock should only be a little harder to turn regardless of width.
