Ok so first off THANKS to Jeff for coming on here and getting serious about making some changes.

I just wanted to create a thread where we can discuss options for making this site better soon.

This is what I wrote in the survey for suggestions for what the site needs:

It needs active moderators/admins, a total reconstruction including a bunch of different sections. Basically very very similar to customtacos.com(basically copy paste minus the xrunner/prerunner/srunner tacoma specific stuff). Toyotaminis.com has definately lost members due to the difficulty of navigating and lack of different sections. It's a great concept for a site and will grow by leaps and bounds if the changes are made. I would also make it appeal to not just 2wd guys but 4wd guys such as those that frequent yotatech.com. There isn't a site that brings together all pretaco toyota trucks 2wd and 4wd (also include 1st and 2nd gen 4runners) and that could definately be Toyotaminis.com.
    Thanks!!

So everyone feel free to discuss and voice your opinon

most of us that are still around have been on this site since it started hopefully we can rehash the site and increase it's popularity and usefulness by doing so.

First of all, I LOVE this site and come here everyday and enjoy reading every post and talking to others about our trucks, I enjoy learning new things and sharing the knowledge I have gained with the help of others and thru tried and true. I have not been here since the start but Ive devoted myself to learning and communicating and sharing everyday with as many differet posts and members and topics as I can contribute to. I would love to see expanded member pages with space for pics ( which could be limited to a certain # ) I love the fact that it is a VERY welcoming site and that EVERY new member is treated with respect and no one gets the drama central drag. I would also like to see more 4 x 4 owners join us by adding seperate topic areas just for us/them ( could be done by years/generations [ like it is already ] but adding a 4 x 4 section and keeping one for 2 x 4 and maybe possibly having one section just for general information with different topic designations accordingly.) I would love to see the addition of a parts section with links to some of our hard to find parts in one spot for everyone to enjoy and use because we all know how hard some parts are to find. New and consistent moderators are essential to keeping admin informed on operations of the site and doing general maintenance to keep things running smooth, they should be knowledgable in most areas of these trucks and should be able to help members find answers to their questions with ease. We all know these trucks are becoming classics very fast and helping members find usefull information and answers in maintaining their rides and to continually improve this friendly place to hang out is what will make this site grow bigger everyday and will ( in theory ) increase the popularity significantly. Ill be here till the day I no longer own a Toyota ( doubt that will ever happen ) and cant wait to see what comes outta it. Okay my bible is done . . .

    Next . . .

And should stay that way ;)

Did the survey and added the importance of mods and admins.
We are a well mannered group here, sure we don't need to be watched over.but you know as well as i do, that the bigger we get, the more "idiots" we will likely attract.

Hopefully if we get big, we wont loose the charm and helpfulness this site offers."see s10forums for example of that.... "
I for one will try hard to keep it like that :D

The ability to have a more diversified forum setup. More sections for members to go right where they need to be. Kinda the way you have things setup on Customtacos.

Possible to make some off the regular members have special right and abilities.

A link exchange would also be good for spreading the word and getting more people to the site!

That's what I posted on the survey, at the time couldn't think straight.

Remember we don't want to go to crazy, sorta simple is a good thing.

I will probably think of other things later. Everything seems to have been covered!!!

honestly, Id love to see this site get shut down lol. I wish we were still part of the main website so that we could have our own sections but there would be soooo many more people viewing and throwing in their opinions, cuz even though they have new tacos they may have had a pre taco before and know something about them...

I like this forum, but I find that information is scattered between the different sections, making it hard to find.

Example- I'm building an '85 RE for my '90 pickup, with an unknown W55, and going from carb to EFI. Any questions I post in the forum specific to the truck could easily be missed by the knowledgeable people with other models. I'd like to see a more general area for technical stuff, where all can share their know-how.

Active membership here isn't so large as to create confusion (yet), so I feel it unnecessary to divide the forums the way they are.

All I know is that since discovering this site I've appreciated my truck a whole lot more. Every single fellow Toyota pickup owner here has been an inspiration one way or another, so though the site may change and/or grow, I hope the overall camaraderie stays the same.

I've seen too many other sites where a thread will start off on a good note, but as you scroll down you'll slowly find a bunch of Keyboard Warriors creeping into the conversation, and one person's quest for help turns into something totally un-related.

Practical, reliable, and classy in their own way is how I'd describe our trucks...as well as the responses I've received from members of this site.

    So add whatever. Remove whatever.

Just keep all the great members! :)
