hey guys ive got a 91 yota and the rear springs are sagging like mad and i have to replace them i want to lower the truck and was of getting some belltech lowering springs for summit racing but i was wondering if i would in turn need to buy new shocks seeing that there are new spring in. any info would be great/suggestions of what would be good for lowering. thanks
If you have the funds should just go ahead and do it just to get it over with. is your shocks stock? if so Replace it. otherwise just use it and when your ready replace it its your choice. i would change it all at one time. and im sure everyone here would to.
. . . ditto . . . replace them all at once! If your interested Ive got 2 sets of drop nitros from my previously static dropped 87' if your interested. I used them for about a year ( in town ) with less than 1,000 miles, they are still VERY operational and at best would need a respray of paint ( not rusted, just lil road grime and such ) I paid over $150 brand new, you can take em' home for $75 plus $8.95 [ flat rate box USPS ] Hit me up if interested or Ill submit a link in parts and acc soon for someone else to grab up the deal . . .
whats wrong w/ stock shocks? are they too soft? my friend says my truck is smoother than my odyssey other than that my dampers are old lol
. . . considering the fact that they are 17 years old and most likely have worn out bushings and the fact that the rear leaves have sagged, undoubtedly aiding in a spongy ride " Ide replace them ". The ones on my 87' before the Nitros were " Stockers " [ YIKES ] and yes they were all beyond shot . . .
i was wondering after i got the springs installed with the new shocks will there be any drive train issues. i am all so thinking of getting some belltech drop spindles for the from belltech or is it just install and everything is good to go. whats the difference in ride feel?
lowering issues You might have to flip the carrier bearing or something. Once the pinion angle is changed the u-joints could potentially break. I lowered my '98 in the rear and the driveshaft broke at the u-joint. So I purchased a slip yoke driveshaft from a 4x4.
