If someone could please give me some kind of guidance on how to and where to get the stuff needed. See I'm a fan of all makes and models of cars and trucks. I work at dodge but, I like Toyotas and Fords and on and on. But I'm more use to working on other brands due to what comes in the shop. Now that doesn't mean I like one more then the other, I'm just more skilled at working on others brands. With that being said I really need help. Right now I'm riding with a fading blue paint job and I'm sure dry rotting tires from sitting up so long. I want to lower it and get it worth looking at. I know it has potential or I wouldn't have bought it and wouldn't have became a member here if I didn't think so. The main thing I wont to do right now is lower it. Now my money isn't strong but I do want comfort so anyone with tips and tricks of the trade please get in touch with me thanks guys.

My old 86 with 2" spindle, 2" lower arms, 5" lowering blocks & notch kit, about the cheapest way to lower truck. It's on 17x7" wheels & 205/40-17s with 4X4 fenders.

Crank the torsion bars and throw some locks in the back(do a search trust me you'll find plenty)

Nice ride you have there. That's what I call a sleek pickup and I have to say that it has a perfect drop. The only thing that I don't like was the body color. I would have preferred it with a single color especially with a black or blue color. Still an impressive ride though. :waytogo:

If your tght on money then crank the torsions down and put blocks n the back and pull a leaf spring for now. But you should invest in some drop spindles because it doesn't effect the camber and will maintain factory ride quality

youre going to lose alot of "ride quality" by crankin the torsions and pulling a leaf but for about $30 and a couple hours you can do 3" blocks, pull the middle leaf, and crank/re-index the torsions and get roughly about a 4/4 to 4/5 drop.

Just be aware of parts bottoming out like the LCA, axle to the frame, and shocks.

My truck rides like sh!t and i did all of the above that I posted. My axle hits the frame time to time. Ive had the tires hit the inner fenders once. Ive blown one of the rear shocks already and im sure the front ones are fcked too.

and please if u drop the rear with blocks dnt buy drop shocks. yoyl just be wasting money on something u dnt need

Well I had front shocks that were KYB Gas A Just for a 69 Camaro V8. And my rear shocks were Monroe air shocks (Monroe 729's or something). I didn't have to notch the rear and it rode pretty damn nice. The front shocks soaked up potholes like nothing. And the rear shocks were such good quality as well you don't even have to use much air in them. Although airing them up lifts the truck about an inch or two and reallllyyy stiffens it up back there. I also had DJM drop lower arms, which in the instructions tell you to crank down the torsions slightly. I think I cranked them even more than the instructions said since I had the Camaro shocks. The Camaro shocks are real easy to install you just have to enlarge the lower bolt holes on the shock. And the monroe rear shocks were a lot shorter so I had de arched leaf springs and that dropped the rear 4 or 5 inches. Plus I had 3 inch blocks. Be sure to correct driveshaft/pinion angles.
