I just picked up this gem for 200 bucks. Hopefully i'll have her running by the end of the week. Then i'll be needing to do something about that height issue she has. It sits just a wee bit too high for my taste Here you go pic whores
i got my 78 to skip on road turtles when i change lanes. so i can help you with tips on dropping it as low as you want. lol.
i have 195/65/14 and 195/70/14 on stock steelies. in the front im about 1" from tucking the lip of the rim. the rear, i have about half the sidewall in there. rear is just blocks and a pulled leaf. up front i cut the coils. had to do a lot of inner fender hammering though. the carrier crossmember hangs low. and the exhaust doesnt have alot of room to tuck into the stock crossmember notch. id suggest a short diameter set of tires. itll help with rubbing up front. i also rolled, flared, and widened my fenders quite a bit for when i had 16x7+40s on 225/50/16s. those were huge on the front of this. lol.
its pretty straight forward though. tire clearance was my biggest issue. i didnt wanna cut my inner fenders though. i can get pics of them. i also relocated a few things bolted to them so there arent bolts aiming inwards.
It's looking like i'm either going to have to find another bed or build a flat bed. This one is pretty rough. The cab is very straight though, the interior is a little rough. apparently someone decided to leave one of the windows cracked a few inches. I'm going to have to go crazy with some paint stripper since the bumper and all has been painted over. Either way i'm excited about this one. Should be a real fun little project.
It's home! And rough! But I love it! haha the bed is SHOT and I need a tail light. Now I just need to tear into it
Got some wheels for it. Black 17's, I think they're eagle aloys. idk they're off a buddy's drift car. Anyways got the paint picked out for it and i'll be running bedless for a while i guess. I'll get up some new pictures as soon as i get a chance.
as long as the paint comes in a can and says "Rustoleum Satin *insert color*" it gets my vote. haha. seriously, that stuff sprays out nice after thinning it. im gonna do my dodge in a green ill mix up. better than spray cans.
