    Hey All,

I have searched far and wide for this answer. Has anyone replaced their LCA Bushings in their garage without air tools?

What do I need for the install? Any special bushing tools?

Our 2WD Pickups seem to be some of the only that have the bushing in the frame.
Toyota wants $800 and other shops won't touch it because I've been working on the truck...

    Thanks!

Sawazall, hammers, punches and prybars should do the trick

Ha that's what I figured. I was planning to use a a Hole Saw Drill Bit to get out the center sleeve, then Sawzall out the outer sleeve. I'm just worried about getting to the point of no return and how I'd get it to a mechanic from there lol.

I've gotten so far though, I've replaced all control arms, bushings, ball joints, SB Links, you name it. If it had rust or dry rot, I replaced it. I've spent a lot on this project and ready to freaking drive it!

As long as you dont fuck up the control arm you're good. Just take your time with one and learn from it

bushings on this model aren't on the control arm. the LCA is a different design and the bushings are inside the crossmember on the frame.

No idea how you remove those. I know many people burn them out of control arms, but I dunno if that's a good idea on this one since you can't do it remotely on the 2wd LCA. The hole saw idea sounds good. I'd maybe try pressing things in/out with either a big c-clamp or a similar device with a fatty bolt and washers

Yeah wow, what a bitch that was. The Sawzaw helped to put out the outer sleeve. But of course I put cut marks into the barrel it presses into. Didn't go through, so I carried on and continued the installation.

Looking forward to getting the rest of my replacement parts so I can start to put it back together!
