can you run itb's on a Toyota Tacoma??? I think you could because it has dohc. any info would help thanks!!!
You can put itb on any motor, dohc, sohc, ohv, flat, etc. you will need a appropriate ecu to run it however.
Not to kill dreams but itbs plus tunable ecu ...at the least two grand ...25ish hp with supporting mods ......or 2grandish towards a low boost turbo setup or a used supercharger I love how itbs sound but on Ecu controlled street truck money vs hp .. Forced induction all the way
I think the 2RZ-FE would benefit from any intake modification. Those things sound so effin wheezy. DOHC's and quad valves do fine with ITB's. Your biggest limitation would be fabrication and your fuel injection system. but hey, that's all doable. Megasquirt with tuning and then getting four throbbing throttle bodies. That'll be something. DCOE's or quad carbs made it happen. It's just easy because it's been done long ago and everyone is afraid of a computer. so if you want it, make it happen. I can imagine a Taco with ITB's with a snake spiraling exhaust manifold and a thick carb, fuel injected fury with short gear ratios, ripping it up around some corners. Doable. But who said the turbo truck can't do that?
yeah!! when I get my taco I will let you guys know what I'm going to do!!! thanks for the input too!!! hey nam are you going to put short gears in your truck too???
W58 gives me the closest gear ratios. And I wouldn't want to get a shorter rear end in my truck. I'm turning 2000rpm's at 60mph. And that's on a 30-35 minute drive to work each daylol
If I remember right, 2rz 5 speed have relatively short 1st to 2nd gear. Now my w50 + 4.10 rear does 65mph at about little over 3000ish with 195/70-14. Talk about good freeway mileage
