Does anyone know if a 22r can be ran without the wiring harness. I want to bypass everything like the old school v 8

I gots no truck, for now
if you get a gm 1 wire alt, and dont mind running a wire to your ignition coil and dont want ac ya it can be ran without that harness. you will need to swap out the crap toyota carb for a weber, which will also take out a bunch of vacume lines and junk. im doing it right now, cept i have the stock alt with the external regulator on my 73. you will need to run a few wires like you do on the old v8's eg. starter, and power wires for your fuse block, but other then that ya pretty simple.

if you unplug the carb harness it wont run...... mostly due to the choke. but if you get a better carb as dillin mentioned yea, you can rid yourself of the harness. make sure to still run a temp gauge wire to a sensor though so you can keep an eye on your motor. either or install a mech gauge. :waytogo:
