where can i find a cheap, reliable deal for both? prefer the 22r with a 5spd but would be open to a 22r/20r engine with the same tranny

ah, well i am in NC. used to live in socal. you can have it if you want to pay shipping, my guess is you can find one locally

 

how much would shipping cost? complete motor and tranny? whats the condition of them? mileage?

 

i dont have a spare engine, unless you want one that needs to be rebuilt. its not currently running. i cannot make any promises with the engine. however, i do have a 5 spd tranny that i know is in good condition, i am not sure about the mileage exactly, i believe in the 250k range. however, it is in really good condition. shipping prices i would have to check on based on your interest...let me know

 

ya i did happen to find a deal closer..how difficult is it to do an engine tranny swap? never done anything like it..

yeah mainly just the engine but if tranny is cheap, that too.

 

The engine does not have the air filter housing for the carberator, but i believe that everything else is there. Also, i know that there is no compression in the third cylinder, but not sure why. Not trying to discourage, but being honest about its condition. It was running just fine three months ago until a water leak happened when timing chain rubbed a whole in the timing chain cover. As far as the transmission goes, it is bold on ready to go. You could take them both for 200 or 100 a piece. Hows that sound to you? I also have a radiator that ill throw in for 50 if you want the other two.

 

Ill think about the motor for 100, can you pm me some pics. I feel bad jacking this thread anymore lol. I want the motor its just Idk the next time ill be in there area, your about 800 miles from me but I do have an uncle local to you that I visit sometimes

if it helps at all, the motor is actually three hours south of me in greenville, sc, that would make it closer to you and maybe to your uncle, we would have to pull the motor as well, which has not happened yet...pics coming in next couple days

less work/time/hassle to swap in an already working engine than to diagnose and rebuild the other one
